Welcome to Charis

What does Charis mean?

Charis is a Greek word meaning grace — that which causes joy, kindness, and favour. At Charis Counselling, that idea shapes how we meet you: with respect, integrity, and the steady belief that change is possible. I am committed to upholding a high standard of professionalism, respect, and integrity. It takes courage to make a change — and you are worth it.

Client Reflections

In their own words.

“I came to therapy unsure if I would ever feel grounded again. Iddi gave me space to slow down and listen to myself. Six months in, things feel different — and so do I.”

A.K. Toronto

“We almost gave up on our marriage. Working with Iddi gave us a way to talk to each other again, without the wall. Practical, honest, and never preachy.”

M. & J. Mississauga

“After years of carrying my trauma quietly, I finally felt safe enough to set it down piece by piece. The pace was always mine to choose.”

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Are sessions covered by insurance?

Many extended health plans in Ontario reimburse psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist. I will provide a receipt with my CRPO registration after each session for you to submit to your provider. If you are unsure, contact your insurer in advance with the question: "Are services from a Registered Psychotherapist covered under my plan?"

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Sessions are available virtually across Ontario through a secure video platform, as well as in person. We can decide together which works best for what you are working through.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is foundational to therapeutic work and is protected under Ontario privacy law (PHIPA) and CRPO professional standards. Narrow legal exceptions exist (risk of serious harm, court order, child welfare); I will explain fully at our intake session.

What is Christian-based counselling, and is it required?

Christian-based counselling is offered only when a client specifically requests it. It respectfully integrates faith and reflection into evidence-based therapy. It is never assumed and never required.

How long does therapy usually last?

It depends on what you are working with and your goals. Some clients find five to eight sessions are enough; others stay longer. We review progress regularly so the length is always your decision.
